1996
Mississippi Valley Surgery Center opens with its first case performed at the center, a vasectomy.
2004
Mississippi Valley Endoscopy Center opens, providing the area with outpatient gastroenterology care.
2006
MVSC launches its Total Joint Replacement Program, an innovation leading to even better patient outcomes.
2012
MVSC leadership is reorganized, setting the foundation to grow with expertise and even more skilled physicians.
2017
Groundbreaking for modernization project begins to increase square footage and total number of beds from 24 to 37.
2018
Modernization project reaches completion, creating private rooms for patients undergoing outpatient surgery.
2020
MVSC gains recognition as the first (and at the time, only) Advanced Orthopaedic Certified surgery center in Iowa.
2021
MVSC introduces first Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System to the region, continuing a tradition of innovation.
2022
MVSC earns AAAHC Accreditation as Iowa’s only AAAHC Advanced Orthopaedic and Spine Certified surgery center.
