Podiatrists are Doctors of Podiatric Medicine who diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle and related structures of the lower leg. Within this field there are several different specialty areas including surgery, sports medicine, biomechanics, geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics and primary care.

The podiatrists on the Medical Staff at Mississippi Valley Surgery Center (MVSC) surgically treat bunion deformities, hammertoe and other toe deformities, painful neuromas, tendon injuries and degeneration, chronic ulcers, plantar fasciitis and foot pain.
